AYUSH Clinic at GIM, Ribandar

Good news! The Goa government has allotted the entire ground floor of the main building of the old campus of Goa Institute of Management at Ribander, admeasuring 1,600 sq mts, along with residential accommodation of 2,524 sq mts, for Ayush centers to be set up by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. Centers of Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy will be functional here soon.
According to AYUSH Minister of State Shripad Yesso Naik the premises will go a long way in taking care of the health needs of Goans. In the meantime the construction of the All India Institute of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy at Dhargal in Pernem taluka is in progress. The total cost of the project is Rs301 crore (first phase); the 250 beds institute will be managed by trained and qualified staff and cater to over 500 students doing UG, PG and PhD degrees courses. The MOU has already been signed between Ministry of AYUSH and government of Goa with 50% of the seats to be reserved for locals in graduation/post graduation/PhD. All group C’ andD’ employees will be employed by the recruitment of persons from Goa. A lot more is also on the cards to meet the healthcare needs of the people of Goa.

India Heritage Walk Festival: Sahapedia in collaboration with InterGlobe Foundation has organized this third edition of the heritage festival which takes groups walking to discover local heritage places from the point of view architecture and culture. EVENT
Public Meeting: In the context of CAA related citizens protests and subsequent violence unleashed on them in Delhi, several groups have come together to hold a public meeting. All citizens are invited to attend the public meeting organized by Peoples Forum for Justice, Secularism & Democracy, Council for Social Justice and Peace, Concerned Citizens for Goa and National Confederation for Human Rights to register their protest against politically motivated, police protected lynching and killing of citizens. This was the theme of Prof Rahul Tripathi talk at the first session of Manthan, a new dialogue platform initiated by the Ganga Zuari Academy in collaboration with the Directorate of Art & Culture (Goa), at the Art & Culture Lecture Hall, Central Library, Patto, Panaji, on Feb 29, 2020. Prof Tripathi, a versatile scholar of economics and politics, rued the failure of India’s relationship with its neighbors. He said three things should concern us the most us in the South Asian subcontinent — climate changes, religious intolerance and economic disparity.
