ASSOCIATION OF ALL GOA MUSLIM JAMATS ISSUES ADVISORY TO ALL MUSLIM

In view of extended lockdown due the pandemic of Covid-19, the Association of All Goa Muslim Jamats has issued an advisory to the Muslim community to be followed during the forthcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
The Hilal Committee of Goa will meet on Saturday, May 23, 2020 to decide on the sighting of the moon for celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr. The committee will announce its decision by 8:30pm on that day. All the brothers are kindly requested to abide by the decision of Hilal Committee of Goa.
Secondly, Eid-ul-Fitr namaz will not be held at any masjids or eidgahs in Goa and brothers are requested to pray from home and celebrate Eid this year. We request you not to organize any Eid namaz in your locality or open place as this is not permissible in Sharia. Instead you may pray Chasht namaz at that time. Do not forget to give fitra of `80/- per person before Eid-uI-Fitr.
Kindly follow the guidelines given by the government with regards to lockdown and section 144 imposed in Goa. Do not crowd in markets for Eid shopping, follow social distancing and put mask on your face all the time. Do take care of your neighbours and help person in need to celebrate Eid. Helping people in need will be the real celebration of Eid this year.
Kindly pray for the recovery of all people who are affected by the deadly disease of Covid – 19, safety of frontline warriors like doctors, paramedical staff, police personnel, etc, to end this Coronavirus in Goa, India and whole world.
