LETTER TO THE EDITOR FOR ISSUE DATED JANUARY 17, 2026

Jan 17- Jan 23, 2026, Letters To The Editor

SERVE LIFE AND LIFE WILL SERVE ALL!
WHEN we serve others, we discover our own purpose and value, becoming more like our best selves. This is real way of surviving life and that is practical. One must experience and feel it not like meditation, or spirituality. Life should be personified.
The phrase “serve lives and life will serve you” is a wisdom principle meaning that by focusing on helping others and living a life of service, you’ll find your own purpose, happiness and fulfillment, which many philosophers (Einstein, Schweitzer) and spiritual texts highlighting that giving to others creates richer, more meaningful existence for yourself, often through good karma or divine blessing. It suggests cycle where selfless action leads to personal wellbeing, irrespective of religions.
The universe or God responds to selfless giving; what one put out into the world, we receive back, often as good karma or blessings.
Biblical principle: “Serve one another in love” (Galatians 5:13) and “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:31) are core tenets, emphasizing that serving others is serving God and finding true life.
“As we lose ourselves in the service of others we discover our own lives and our own happiness.” – Dieter F Uchtdorf
“Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.” – Muhammad Ali
A concept of selfless service that brings good karma and spiritual liberation (moksha).
In essence, it’s a call to shift focus from self-gain to community contribution, promising that in doing so, life itself becomes more rewarding. This is the principle of present living lives.

GOANS WILL SAVE GOA!
16TH January reminds us of a historic truth. On this day, Goans spoke with courage and unity, proving that when citizens rise, power listens. When people stand together, injustice retreats.
Goa’s land, environment, identity and future are not negotiable. They belong to the people, and only the people can defend them. Every voice raised today safeguards the rights of generations to come. This is not about politics; it is about conscience, responsibility, and collective courage. History has already shown us the way: Goa is protected whenever Goans stand united. Silence weakens Goa. Participation strengthens it. Let 16th January not remain just a memory, but a reminder. Stand up. Speak out. Stay united. The future of Goa depends on us.
–JM, Goa.
