The families of two niz Goenkar, the Govind Poi Raiturcar family and the VM Salgaocar family came together in a solemn GSB marriage at the Reliance Center in Bandra on February 12, 2026. The bride Shweana is the daughter of Sanjay Poi Raiturcar and Binita, both architects. The suitable boy was Vikram, the son of Dattaraj and Dipti (nee Ambani) Salgaocar.
Vikram Salgaocar’s profile is that he did his undergraduate studies at Jai Hind College, and his management degree at the University of Pennsylvania in the US. He started his career as a consultant with the international investment firm McKinsey & Company.
When Vikram Salgaocar returned to India he worked for many years as the development manager for the entertainment division of Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Group. Coming to the bride, Shweana, she was originally christened Rukmini. She has done an advanced course in design at the Parson School of Design in New York.
Interestingly, Shweana has specialized in designer jewelry, she interned at the international diamond firm of De Beers. Thereafter she worked for Rosy Blue which is owned by diamond merchant Russell Mehta. Russell Mehta’s daughter Shloka is the wife of Mukesh Ambani’s elder son Akash. Vikram and Shweana reportedly met during the engagement of Shloka and Akash which took place in Goa.
Coming to the latest Goa wedding reception of Vikram and Shweana, it was a typical Goan event with good music and good food sourced from all the Marriott hotels in the country. To incorporate the carnival spirit one of the highlights of the reception were stilt walkers, reportedly from New Orleans — where the Mardi Graz carnival takes place for four days and concludes on a Tuesday. These high on stilts entertainers mingled with the guests at the Marriott Resort Miramar during the reception and it was a scene amusing to see. Later in the night the guests were treated to a lazer show up in the sky which incorporated Vikram’s love for football — commemorating the victory of his team Real Madrid.
