RAHUL GROUNDED: Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi was allegedly pushed to the ground and injured when he try to protest outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence in Delhi.

LATHI, goli khayege, phir bhi Sansad jayege. The angry youth of the country has lost all faith in their rulers. They do no trust the government any longer. The Cockroach Janata Party has now stirred the conscience of the country. Support is pouring in from all sections of the community and not just Opposition political parties. The veteran women actor and activist Shabana Azmi had joined the protestors at Jantar Mantar. The Hindi film icon Rithik Roshan is due to join the protestors at the Jantar Mantar. Despite the ban on the protesting at Jantar Mantar the agitation continues at the Kerala House in the area which is the guest house of the Kerala government.
A terrified Modi government closed all the doors leading to the new Parliament building. The people of the country were denied access to the house of the people. The prime minister, Narendra Modi and home minister, Amit Shah, are acting as if the students were launching a terror attack. Army contingents with guns pointing towards the entrance of Parliament are maintaining a threatening vigil. The Parliament building is covered not by fog but by tear gas. The tears of parents who lost their children who committed suicide because of the NEET exam leakage. The tears of parents and students over the Central Board of Secondary Education evaluation scam. The anger of highly qualified engineering graduates from the top engineering colleges who cannot get jobs in the country. This struggle is for dignity and the livelihood of our young people. Above all, it is a demand for accountability, it goes beyond individuals. The demand is for accountability in the system. In the case of the education system it’s a demand for accountability of the National Testing Authority which conducts the NEET exam. It is a call for accountability from the Indian Medical Council which keeps giving permission for capitation fee for medical colleges which charge Rs80 lakh per year for the MBBS course. As against the less than Rs1lakh fee in government medical colleges. It is a protest against the coaching classes and the Kota mugging complex who make thousands of crore on taking students for a ride. To add insult to injury they take multiple full page advertisements in all the newspapers and electronic media boasting about students who have achieved the 52,000th rank in the NEET exams. It is not widely known that 11lakh students have reportedly qualified in the NEED exam. Those with a low rank above 8lakh will have to pay Rs1crore per month for entry into third class medical colleges.
The youth revolt is not confined to Jantar Mantar. Students have come out in every state in the country. There have been huge protests in very major city from Mumbai to Ahmedabad to Chennai to Chandigarh to demand accountability from the government. Even in Goa there was a candle-lit vigil by hundreds of students at Miramar beach who marched to the Azad maidan in Panjim on July 20, 2026. They should have ideally marched to the Goa Medical College & Hospital and the residence of Health Minister Vishwajit Rane. There can be no stopping the students. Hopefully, they will sweep away an insensitive government, as they did in Nepal, as they did in Sri Lanka.

WHY COCKROACH JANATA PARTY
THE Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) started off as a satirical youth protest. Students were provoked by a controversial remark comparing unemployed youth of the country to cockroaches by the Chief Justice of India Suryakant. The party was started by Abhijit Dipke, a postgraduate student, who launched the movement on May 20, 2026. Initially, it was just an online movement from the student who had proceeded to the United States for his higher studies. By June 20, 2026 the movement expanded across social media and university campuses. It demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and cancellation of the now very tainted NEET exam.

On June 28, 2026 activist Sonak Wanchuk began an indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi in solidarity with students of the movement. In the early hours of July 19, Sonam who had been fasting for 21 days was forcibly removed by the Delhi police and admitted to the Safdarjung hospital. His wife Geetanjali Angma and even the doctors monitoring Sonam were not consulted before he was moved to the hospital. Geetanjali is trained in Odissi dance and Russian ballet and holds a black belt in karate. She is the CEO of the Himalayan Institute of Alternatives in Ladakh. She has made it clear that Sonam was admitted to Safdarjung against her wishes. Gitanjali has not been allowed to shift Sonam to Medanta hospital (Sonam has been shifted now after a court order). She has also been denied access to the medical papers and test reports in the hospital.
Sonam Wangchu himself has been insisting that he is fine and was keen on joining the Sansad march. It is not widely known that many scientists nationwide have gone on a sympathetic strike along with Sonum Wangchuk; amongst them in Goa we know of Ranadhir Mukhopadhyay, former chief scientist of the CSIR , a marine geologist, who has been living on fluids on to keep Wangchuk company since he started his fast. The Gyanpith award winning Goan author Damador Mauzo has sent a message of solidarity to Gitanjali Wangchuk.
THE irony of all this is that the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla, did not even permit a discussion on the NEET scam and protest by the students happening just 5kilometers away from Parliament House on the first day of the monsoon session. Huge metal barricades were created to prevent the protestors from completing their Sansad march. The Opposition headed by Rahul Gandhi have not been allowed to move a motion for discussion on the students’ agitation. No questions were permitted during Zero Hour. Both houses of Parliament were adjourned claiming there was chaos within Parliament due to Opposition protests.
The Gen Z protest is gaining momentum. It has spread to all parts of the country. Young people are enraged by how they were treated in Delhi. There is no talk about the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. There is no talk of even sacking the director general of the National Testing Authority. The government of Narendra Modi is deaf, dumb and blind. They have, in an ultimate insult to the Mahatma, banned Gandhian satyagraha in the country.
