TMC CANDLE LIGHT MARCH!

TMC candlelight walks… this one at the Azad maidan in Panaji had several members of the party speaking loud and clear about a government insensitive to the people’s suffering during and post-covid19 times

THIS is to salute Prashant Kishor’s I-PAC team from Delhi and the country over in Panaji, Goa! Never mind who or how many they are doing marketing for this elections around, but they’re a hardworking lot and on Tuesday (Nov2) I couldn’t resist joining the Goa TMC team which has been highlighting the failures of the BJP. That evening’s call was for a candle light protest around Azad Maid to focus on monstrously rising fuel and LPG prices, courtesy a government which has proved itself to be unfit after seven years of emptying the public treasury in Goa.
The candle light march was a gallant attempt but of course no candle in hand stayed lit for long in the blowing wind and the snuffed out had to be re-lit again and again. It was a peaceful march just to make passers-by take note of the flickering candle light procession and maybe this is what life is being reduced to for the many, vulnerable candlelight! It’s a government of Narkasurs who may take a bow if they wish.
Apart from focussing on harsh fuel and LPG price rise anew the Goa Trinamool Congress team has also submitted a file to the chairperson of the State Women Commission in the Siddhi Naik murder/suicide case. I wish them luck in finding out exactly what happened, even the media has not been able to do so, only Pramod Sawan’s government knows what happened and they would like hide the shame forever. The mystery around Siddhi Naik has to be unravelled if only for the comfort of her parents’ hearts.
After the candles lit were set down at the martys’ memorial, various TMC members took turns to speak – N Shivdas, Swati Kerkar, Pratibha Borkar, Arif Hussain, Simon and several more who described how hard aam aadmi lives have become post-covid-19 lockdowns, mainly due to arrogant BJP scams, lapses, crimes. Corruption big-time in casino town Panaji is driving a monstrous inflationary trend – how will struggling aam aadmi survive, and where is the right to live in peace and harmony? Only the Indian Hindu sarkar lives in style, happy with its praja down on its knees praying for an end to all political Narkasurs…where are you Lord Ram and Lord Krishna, like that!
ANYWAYS I hope this candle light evening protest tells voters one thing and that is it is time to push this government back on the opposition benches to contemplate its sins of omission and commission in the Legislative Assembly of Goa. The protest had to end abruptly because a sudden thunder storm arrived with copious rain and everyone got drenched to the skin, and had to disperse. Maybe candlelight protests are not a good idea in the open outdoors!

NEW WAY TO SAY IT: This deepavali greeting card designed using the art of paper quilling by Payal Sumaya, Mumbai.

THIS deepavali as usual I got all kinds of greetings mostly on WhatsApp of course, the new normal is not to use the good old postal service to post old-fashioned cards (an entire business has become elitist now!)…but I was charmed by this paper quilled greeting which came my way, courtesy artiste Payal Sumaya in Mumbai, who has mastered the art of paper quilling. It’s the latest rage in Mumbai. Colored paper quilling artwork is a painstaking skill and is competing with traditional rangoli, and what’s more one may put ready wax candle diya into the designs safely – so we have a pretty eye-catching effect. See for yourself, am reproducing virtual greeting card and other uses here…happy deepavali!

NO FORCED VACCINATIONS, PLEASE
DON’T know about you my dears, but I am very happy to share this bit of news with you. Nobody can force you take any of the Covid-19 vaccines if you don’t want to, if in your mind you are convinced that you don’t need it, don’t want it, fear what it may do your existing health brief or status.
So, in response to writ petition 1820 of 2021 in the High Court of Bombay at Goa, a counter affidavit has been filed by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare on October 8, 2021. Satyendra Singh, Under Secretary Covid Vaccination Cell in MoHF has stated the following on record:
“9. That, it is further humbly submitted that the directions and guidelines released by Government of India and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, do not entail compulsory or forcible vaccination against Covid-19 disease implying that Covid-19 vaccination is completely voluntary for all citizens of India. Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, government of India has not formulated or suggested any policies for discrimination between citizens of India on the basis of vaccination status.
“10. That, it is duly advised, advertised and communicated by MoHFW through various print and social media platforms that all citizens should get vaccinated, but this in no way implies that any person can be forced to be vaccinated against her/his wishes.
“11. That, as per the existing guidelines, there is no provisions for forcing any citizen to book appointment for Covid Vaccination on Co-WIN or visiting Covid Vaccination Centre for vaccination if a person above the age of 18 years visits a Covid Vaccination Centre by her/his choice for vaccination and asks for the same, it implies that she/he is voluntarily coming to the center to get the benefit of Covid Vaccination.”
You may read the full affidavit at the link: https://awakenindiamovement.com/counter-affidavit-filed-by-mohfw/
So there you are, if you don’t want to take vaccine for whatever sound reasons you may have, don’t let anyone bully you into taking it. It is unfortunate that so many organisations including educational institutes are making it mandatory for everyone on their payroll to produce a vaccine certificate before they may renew their jobs. You may now quote the above law if you face any problems!
On that note it’s avjo, poiteverem, selamat datang, au revoir, arrivedecci and vachun yetta here for now.
