The speakers accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government of making people suffer due to rampant misgovernance and apathy towards common people,  “They have tried silencing silenced they have. They tried silencing Rahul Gandhi with cheap tricks by muting his mic and disqualifying him from Parliament – but he remain supreme in the hearts of the people of India! BHONSLE SQUARE BUILDINGS NOT SAFE!

EVERYDAY I go for a cup of tea at   Cafe Bhonsle. I have noticed that a number of buildings near this cafe  are not safe. Recently, I saw a ladder with a number of workers on the job of repairing a relatively tall dilapidated building sideways. Most of us feel this particular building is on the verge of collapse!

I enquired with some shop owners at the ground level of Cafe Bhonsle building who are still running their business here and they are not concerned, they say is left to divine providence. But customers coming to Cafe Bhonsle are more worried that any time this building which is in danger may break on them (see my pics here taken on July 10). Look at the condition of this building for assessment. It is shocking that repairs are being attempted in the rains instead of being done much in advance before the rains.

On July 5 at an adjacent shop given on rent there was a short circuit and the whole shop got burnt with its new  furniture. I enquired with many shops close by whether CCP or government authorities approached them to shift in case of any eventuality. They said neither government officials nor Collector are bothered about them.

VIOLENCE IN MANIPUR

WHY is the Modi government still not doing enough to stop the ongoing ethnic/religious violence in Manipur? Reportedly the European Parliament has adopted a resolution urging Indian authorities to take all necessary measures and make the utmost effort to promptly halt on going ethnic/religious violence to protect religious minorities in Manipur and to pre-empt any further escalation.

Unfortunately, the External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi,  as expectedly has already termed the said resolution as a reflection of “colonial mindset” and advised the European Parliament to utilize its time more productively on its own internal issues, rather than discussing  Manipur issues which are India’s internal problem.

If the Manipur issue is really India’s internal problem then why is the Modi government still not doing enough to stop the on-going ethnic/religious violence going on which has already left 120 dead and 50,000 displaced so far? If the BJP leaders do not want leaders of foreign countries to raise our internal issues in their parliaments, then why are they allowing Prime Minister Narendra Modi to interfere and to selectively raise their internal issues of some isolated attacks on Hindu temples in countries like Australia and many others during most of his foreign visits?  Is this not double standards?

BJP leaders should try to set their own house in order first in India and then start advising world leaders on which resolutions they should pass and not pass in their respective parliaments in future.

SINCE SUSPENSION OF NURSES!

BELIEVE it or not! Things are brightening up with the   suspension of the two nurses of the Bambolim Dental Hospital by visiting Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane. The nurses were suspended for two months for being rude to patients who had brought their complaints to the minister. I visited the superspeciality ward at the GMC on July 8, Saturday, with my parents and we were pleasantly surprised by the very polite response of the staff towards all patients as we could see. We notices that the security staff was helpful, the junior and senior nurses were watchful and extra kind with patients. If just one incident like this can work so much magic we hope Vishwajit bab would visit public hospitals and primary health centres more often!
