GOA HERITAGE FESTIVAL, FATORDA

Not to be missed this first of its kind festival with a difference in Margao, has a political touch to it! International Day of Portuguese Language & Culture: A program has been organized featuring a reading session in Portuguese only. All participants will receive books and a certificate. Open to anyone familiar with the Portuguese language and interested in this unique celebration of the Portuguese language (which many in Goa are familiar and conversant with). Please register by email to clpgoa@gmail.com mentioning name, contact number, title and author of the original text for reading. The duration of the reading should be between 3 to 10 minutes only. Affordable Housing: Inclusive Cities’ : A book release hosted by The Indian Institute of Architects Goa Chapter in collaboration with Sunaparanta Goa Centre for the Arts. The book --Affordable Housing, Inclusive Cities’– by AR Vinayak Bharne has been widely noticed and presented, it talks about an estimated 1.2 billion people across the world who lack secure housing and if cities promote inclusive development for housing for all. The Goa-born and bred Bhare is architect, urban designer and planner and professor of urbanism at the University of Southern California, his work has been widely noticed. ‘Chitrakor’: A film by Saibal Mitra, followed by a discussion with lead actor Dhritiman Chaterji. The film recounts the inspirational life of blind painter Bijon Bose who brought stories to life through his paintings and idealism. `Chitrakor’ is about the tension between art and the marketplace.
