INDIA BANS EXPORT REMDESIVIR

The Modi government has banned the export of the most affective anti covid injection Remdesivir manufactured by Cipla Laboratory in Verna Goa in retaliation for the US banning the export of vital raw materials needed for manufacturing Covishield. The production schedule of Covishield has been very badly affected.

Meanwhile the Drug Controller General of India  has cleared Russian made Sputnik V for restricted emergency use. Ironically all the vaccines being administered in the country including covishield and Covaxin have only been cleared for emergency use and not for regular use as has been implemented in the country. Sputnik V has tied up with the Dr Reddy group which runs the Appolo Hospital chain in the country. The price of Sputnik V is expected to much higher than the regulated price of Covishield.

Though a lot of people are not wearing mask or not doing so properly to cover their mouth and nose there are some who are using double mask. Even medical staff are using twin surgical mask which do not provide a good fit as they tend to leave gaps in their sides. It has been advised that a cloth mask should be worn.

To test if the mask covers your mouth and face your advice to cup your hands around the outside edge of the mask and then blow into it. If you can feel air escaping from edges or from under your eyes then you need to adjust the nose wire and close the gap.
