LETTER TO THE EDITOR FOR ISSUE DATED SEPTEMBER 19, 2026

Letters To The Editor, Sept 19- Sept 25, 2026

ADDRESS WOES OF PEOPLE, PRIME MINISTER MODI!
I WISH our longest serving prime minister of India, Narendra Modi, elected by people, on occasion of his 76th birthday. This should be an occasion for the PM to consider the woes of the unemployed and uneducated by opening more educational institutions, more offices, factories and workshops to help provide education and employment to the needy. We wish our loving Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his 76th birthday and hope that he brings relief to the needy and those who need employment and education.

AAP JOINS FORCES WITH GFP :AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal marked the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi in Goa by taking blessings of Lord Ganesha at an AAP volunteer’s house in Borim, Ponda Assembly President Geetesh Naik’s residence and at alliance partner GFP President Vijay Sardesai’s ancestral home on September 14, 2026. Speaking after paying his respects at Vijay Sardesai’s house, Arvind Kejriwal commented on the alliance’s first video campaign that equated Congress and BJP by stating that Goans are fed up with defectors. He added that the “Pockets First” approach of BJP & Congress has led to the growth of the builders mafia to the detriment of Goa in general. But Goans will now ensure Goa First and not Pockets First will form the government. He added that both parties will work out a plan for what Goans actually want. Commenting on seat sharing both leaders stated it is too early to discuss details. What did Arvind Kejriwal ask Ganapati Bappa? Take away the troubles of every Goan!

GIFT ROOFTOP SOLAR POWER!
THE timing cannot be more perfect than now for our double-engine government to gift solar power to the people of Goa. The Goa government recently notified the Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Promotion Scheme, which would work hand-in-hand with the Central government’s PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. And now it’s time to gift solar electricity to eligible Goans by sanctioning direct loan amount through banks, so that consumers could pay instalments to get DBT of subsidy.
These initiatives dramatically lower the financial entry barrier for Goan households, promising up to 300 units of free electricity per month. But installation is very important for applicable consumers because most of the people do not have sufficient funds. And then public may not even oppose so called smart meters!
Goans will be entitled for the combined Central Financial Assistance (CFA) and the newly added Goa state subsidy which will significantly reduce the out-of-pocket cost for consumers. That’s a great advantage.
