TCS INVOLVED IN SIR MATCH FIXING!

AND a few stray thoughts for yet another Saturday. For a Saturday following the week when the shocking discovery was that it is Tata Computer Services (TCS) that helped top distort the Election Commission software to allow it to delete voters during his Special Intensive Revision (SIR). For a Saturday following the week when high school students aged roughly between 15 and 17 are protesting missing teachers, overcrowded classrooms, crumbling buildings, and excessively long school days. For a Saturday following the week when allegations that the Delhi police misbehaved with three women journalists who were covering the October 3rd Jantar Mantar protest in Delhi.

SHOCKING DISCOVERY
AND a few stray thoughts on when the shocking discovery was that it is Tata Computer Services (TCS) that helped top distort the Election Commission software to allow it to delete voters during his Special Intensive Revision (SIR). TCS was entrusted with creating the EC technology infrastructure. The ERO-Net 2.0, the centralized electoral system which was under the control of the Director General of IT in the Election Commission, Seema Khanna. Seema is reported to be very close to the home minister Amit Shah. The SC has made it clear that while it approved Section 6 but not approve the obstacle placed on enrolling new voters. The SC has asked for an explanation from Gyanesh Kumar.
Voters have also pointed out that SIR appeals have not been entertained by ECI-Net. Apparently, ECI-Net lack facilities to serve notices, upload documents, conduct virtual hearings, and restore deleted voters. So much so that the software system seems to have been aimed at mass deletion of minority Muslim voters without any justification. The rumor is that Narendra Modi and Amit Shah applied pressure on Chandra Shekar Chairman of Tata Sons, which controls TCS. Chandra Shekar has been promised a second term of five years. It is also been claimed that Noel Tata has objected to the manipulation of the Software.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT PROTEST
AND a few stray thoughts on when high school students aged roughly between 15 and 17 are protesting missing teachers, overcrowded classrooms, crumbling buildings, and excessively long school days. Not in India but in France. On October 6th, over three lakh students demonstrated across the country for reform in education. Teachers, parents, and education unions joined the students in the youth revolt, demanding reforms of the education system. Teachers are joining students concerned over the day-to-day collapse of the public school system.
There are severe shortages of teachers. Every teacher has to handle classes with more than 60 students. Ironically, there are not enough desks and chairs in one of the richest countries in the world. The toilets are poor, and there are leaking buildings. Schools are unable to cope with climate change, which has seen temperatures go up to 40 degree centigrade. In a crackdown, the Interior Ministry, which is the home ministry of France, has arrested over 400 students. A fourteen-year-old was injured by a police stun grenade. It would appear that the cockroach effect has spread to France.

WOMEN JOURNALIST ASSAULT
AND a few stray thoughts on when allegations that the Delhi police misbehaved with three women journalists who were covering the October 3rd Jantar Mantar protest in Delhi. This protest was to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The allegation is that a police officer of the rank of ACP squeezed the boobs of one of the female journalists. The independent journalist, identified as Rosy, claimed she was filming police detaining EISA president Mira Vohra. When she questioned ACP Vivek Bhagat about the absence of women police, she alleged that Bhagat squeezed her breast and pushed her away.
When the three women journalists went to the police station to lodge the complaint, the police refused to register an FIR. The journalists underwent an examination, and investigators are expected to record statements and examine the CCTV footage. Ironically, after the incident, the ACP was promoted to the rank of DCP.

JANTAR MANTAR AT DELHI
AND a last few stray thoughts on when all the drama seems to be at the Jantar Mantar in Delhi. In fact, on Tuesday night October 6th the Delhi police arrested both Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi for demanding the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar. A case is going on in the SC. But the real heroes of the battle to save democracy are Prakash Salgaokar and the members of his family from Santa Cruz. Prakash Salgaokar and his family moved from their old residence to a new residence within the St Cruz constituency.
As per the rules which are part of the representation of peoples they filled Form 8 to notify their change of address. The local block-level office and the Goa Electronic Corporation sent 11 emails to the EC. The EC informed the Goa Bench of the Bombay High Court, headed by Valmiki Menezes, that a Tata easy software did not have any provision for recording transfer of evidence. The EC software had not provision for restricting the names of those who have been rejected. Prakash was asked to register as a new voter under Article 6, which he refused. The presiding judge Valmiki Menezes has declared that the criminal charges can be filed against the Election Commission.
