Funny or not funny saga of latter-day adventures in Mumbai which has changed for the better and also for worse making life more difficult at the bottom of the pyramid of good life on roads and streets…mercifully my old provident funds papers are in order now and I will get my mini fortune to freedom! Last formality of handing over documents today and I’ll be free to powwow some more with friends, the key to happiness is friends vintage and new…Navaratri is under way in various surburbia in Mumbai with politicians of various denomination making their presence felt naturally, ditto for “Durga Pujo” as Bongs put it, there’s considerable population of Bengalis in Mumbai and all very culturally conscious about their roots, heritage, legacy and cuisine… food I love for two of my best friends are Bongs, my friend Mita Sen taught me first how to appreciate “macher jhol” and “chopchuri”, etc. And a few clicks to keep me fuelled on “high quality of life” as my other Bong friend musician par excellence Munmun Ghosh puts it, she practices the nitty gritty of Nichiren Daishonin Buddhism and I love her dearly, that’s all!
